Help for Customers
Using Zamcab as a Customer

This section explains how to book rides, use the Live Map, view recommended routes, make payments, and manage your bookings.

Booking a ride
  • Go to Bookings from the main menu.
  • Choose your city, vehicle option, and pickup/drop-off locations.
  • Click Calculate Distance & Fare to see the estimated trip distance and fare.
  • Click Create Booking to submit your request.
  • Only customers can create bookings. Drivers and administrators can view bookings but cannot create or pay for them.
Using the Live Map
  • The Live Map is available to customers for precise pickup and drop-off selection.
  • Select your city and vehicle category first.
  • Click the map or a location marker once to choose your PICKUP point, then click again to choose your DROP-OFF point.
  • The system fills in the pickup and drop-off addresses and coordinates automatically.
  • Click Calculate Distance & Fare before creating the booking.
  • The distance is based on the recommended driving route between your selected points, and the final fare is recalculated by Zamcab before the booking is saved.
  • If you select a point very close to an existing location, Zamcab may reuse that existing location to keep the locations list accurate.
Viewing a recommended route
  • On the Bookings page, find your booking and click View Route in the Route column.
  • This opens Google Maps with driving directions from your pickup point to your drop-off point.
  • You can use the route to confirm the pickup and drop-off locations or follow the journey.
  • Route links are available for bookings that have valid pickup and drop-off coordinates.
Paying for a booking
  • Open Bookings and find your booking in the list.
  • If the booking is eligible for payment, you will see a Pay button and, where available, a Pay with Cash option.
  • Click Pay and follow the on-screen instructions to complete payment.
  • Only customers can pay for their own bookings.
Viewing your bookings
  • The Bookings page shows your bookings and their status: Pending, Confirmed, In Progress, Completed, or Cancelled.
  • Customers see only their own bookings.
  • Paid bookings are marked as Paid in the Payment column.
  • Use View Route to open the recommended driving route for a booking.
Suggestions & queries
  • If you have feedback, suggestions, or queries, use the Suggestions feature.
  • Select a subject, describe your suggestion or query, and submit it.
  • Administrators review suggestions and update their status, such as Open, In Review, or Resolved.
Help for Drivers
Using Zamcab as a Driver

This section explains how to view assigned rides, follow a recommended route, start and complete trips, and understand your earnings and payouts.

Viewing assigned rides
  • Log in and go to your Driver Dashboard.
  • Your dashboard shows bookings assigned to you, including customer details, pickup and drop-off information, fare, and booking status.
  • Drivers see only bookings assigned to them.
Using a recommended route
  • For an assigned, confirmed, or in-progress booking, click Start Recommended Route.
  • Google Maps will open with driving directions from the booking’s pickup point to its drop-off point.
  • Use this before picking up the passenger or while travelling to the destination.
  • The route button is not shown for completed or cancelled bookings.
Starting and completing a ride
  • When you arrive to collect the passenger, click Start Trip. This changes the booking status to In Progress.
  • When you drop off the passenger, click Complete. This changes the booking status to Completed.
  • After completion, the customer can pay for the ride if payment has not yet been made.
  • You can have only one active trip at a time.
Cash payments
  • If the customer is not using the app or is paying physically, use the available cash-payment option to record the payment.
  • Recording cash payment ensures the booking is marked as paid and earnings are tracked.
Earnings and payouts
  • Your earnings are tracked and visible in your driver dashboard or earnings section.
  • Payouts are processed by Zamcab according to the applicable schedule and your chosen payout method.
  • You can view your payout history and status, such as Pending or Paid.
Disputes & suggestions
  • If you have an issue with a booking, fare, or payout, create a Dispute from your dashboard or the relevant booking screen.
  • Provide a clear subject and description so administrators can investigate.
  • You can also submit general feedback through Suggestions.
Help for Administrators
Using Zamcab as an Administrator

This section covers managing bookings, drivers, cities, locations, payouts, disputes, suggestions, and location quality.

Managing bookings
  • The Bookings page shows bookings according to your role: city admins see bookings in their city, while super admins see all bookings.
  • You can filter bookings and review pickup, drop-off, distance, fare, status, and payment details.
  • You can assign drivers, update booking statuses, and manage booking records.
  • Administrators cannot create or pay for bookings; only customers can do this.
Managing drivers and cities
  • Use the relevant admin pages to add or edit cities, locations, and vehicle categories.
  • Ensure drivers are associated with the correct city so that availability, assignment, and reporting work correctly.
  • On the Drivers page, you can review driver details and manage driver status where permitted.
  • Driver payout details are managed by super admins.
Managing locations
  • The Existing Locations list shows each location’s ID, city, latitude, longitude, address, type, status, and available actions.
  • Latitude and Longitude make it easier to identify duplicate, invalid, or misplaced location records.
  • Locations created from the Live Map are checked against existing active locations in the same city.
  • If a new Live Map point is within 30 metres of an existing active location, the existing location is reused.
  • If it is between 30 and 75 metres away, the new location is created and marked as a Possible duplicate for administrator review.
  • When reviewing duplicates, keep the record with the clearer name and address, then deactivate the weaker duplicate rather than deleting it if bookings may reference it.
  • Also review locations whose coordinates appear far outside their assigned city.
Payouts and reconciliation
  • The Driver Payouts section supports creating payouts, marking them as paid, and reviewing payout history.
  • The Payment Reconciliation area helps review paid and unpaid bookings and maintain consistent financial records.
  • Administrators reconcile and review payments; they do not create or pay for bookings.
Disputes & suggestions
  • Drivers can raise disputes about bookings or earnings.
  • Customers and drivers can submit suggestions or feedback.
  • Administrators can review, filter, and update disputes and suggestions, including Open, In Review, Resolved, and Rejected statuses.
  • City admins see records for their city, while super admins see all records.
